mmmmm...

Nothing better than cooking yummy chocolate cake with Grandma, and licking the beaters. She's smart, once the beaters were licked off - she decided to just start sticking her hands in the bowl of batter:)

We love these boys..

One of the best things about living in an apartment complex, is the rare times that you get GREAT neighbors that become great friends, with kids the same ages as your own. This has been just one of the many blessings that has come with this recent move. We're lucky enough to live above an amazing family that has 3 of the sweetest, cutest little boys I've ever met. Addy latched on immediately and can't go a day without them. She asks for them in the morning, all day long and right before bed. "ParkerNoahPita!"..and if I say no, she asks for Holly(their mom)..which is rare, because anyone that knows Addy, knows it takes her a very long time to warm up to people. But Holly has become her second mom.. and a dear friend to me as well. I thought I'd taken more pictures of these cuties together, but apparently these are the only ones I can find. We've had a great summer together, riding bikes, playing in the sprinklers and pools, watching movies, etc.

From the mouth of Addy...

Addy is always talking up a storm..and is getting so good at saying longer sentences. There's some funny things she's always said that I need to write down so I don't forget. Of course as soon I start to type, I've forgotten half of them, so here's some that I could think of right now:

(as she runs down the hall)..."i'm gonna get you Mason!"

"i need my Noah Mommy!" (her friend that lives downstairs)

(as she looks down my shirt)..Mommy's boobies!? (points to her own)..Addy's boobies!?..(points to Mason's)..Mason's boobies!?..(points to Chris's)..Daddy's boobies!?

(on Sunday mornings).."we go Nursery? (me: yep, you're going to go to Nursery) "play Sage, Jada?" (her friends in Nursery) (me: yep, you get to play with Sage and Jada) ...."Sacrament, be reverent..Daddy bread." (me: yep, we're going to take the Sacrament and we're reverent while Daddy passes the bread and water) ..."yep"

(as she pulls my covers off in the morning)..."mommy wake up... mommy wake up...(so I wake up and tell her hi)..."where Daddy go?"...(i tell her he's at school).."where Mason go?"..."i want cereal"..."watch Elmo".."come on Mommy!"

(as I'm cleaning) "mommy, sit down...mommy, read books"
(running down the hall to either Chris or I) "Babe, come here!"
(blowing bubbles outside with Chris) "Minny, watch this!"
(at least 10 times an hour:) "mommy, watch this!"
"bye- bye poopies!" (as she flushes the toilet)
"silly grandpa mow lawn?" (when she wants to go mow the lawn with my dad)
"i be right back"
"fast runnin!"
"whoa, big jumpin!"
"papa-icicle" (popsicle)
"parkernoahpita! (parker, noah, peter, her friends that live below us, she combines the three names into one, I hear her asking for them at least 10 times a day.)
my favorite: "thank you Mommy, love you!"

The day after I hurt my back, we were packing and all of a sudden Chris told me to be quiet and listen. We stopped talking and were could hear Addy talking in the closet.

"Heavenly Father, please bless this day. Thank you for blessings..help mommy's back..name Jesus Amen!!"

Then she'd open the closet door and smile, run around and go back in..shut the door and we'd hear her praying again. I cried. It was the sweetest thing. We can never get her to say them when we're all together, but we'll hear her saying them in private every now and then. I love this little girl so much. She is so much fun and is my best little friend. Last night when I was laying in bed with her singing songs, I layed my head in her lap and she put her hand on my head and started petting my hair. It was a moment I never want to forget.

one of those days...

Ever had a day,
When you just felt like you were no good at being a mom,
being a wife,
Where you failed at your list of things to do?
..and as hard as you tried to keep the kids happy and entertained,
you lost your patience and yelled more than you should,
and the house looks like you were up to no good..

My mom seemed to be able to always have everything spotless...
meals always wonderful and on time,
our laundry always folded and put away...
always time to spend with us,
and have exercised and looking amazing before we woke up.

the lyrics to this song have summed up how I feel, when you just have one of those days:

This hasn't been a been a day,
that I would call my best.
I'd give myself a failing grade,
if this had been a test.

I did not comfort you,
when you were all alone.
I was too busy crying through some problems of my own
Today I have not been the mom you needed me to be
and tonight I wish that you could sing a lullaby for me

I'm glad that you could sleep,
I wish that I could too
I'm sorry that today I wasn't really here for you.
I must have slipped away
to some far distant land
where I'm the child who cries until her mother holds her hand
today I have not been the mom you needed me to be
tonight I wish that you could sing a lullaby for me

tomorrow I'll reclaim my proper place
I'll tuck you in
and gently kiss your face
I'll do the things a mother's meant to do
and I'll know what those things should be
because now I need them too.

This hasn't been a day
that I want to repeat
I'm sorry I could only say I'm sorry when you sleep
today I have not been the mom you needed me to be
tonight I wish that you could sing a lullaby for me.
tonight I need someone to sing a lullaby for me.

Blackfoot Fair

Last Saturday, my parents wanted to take the grandkids that live close by to the fair. Addy had a blast, Mason did great in the stroller and it was fun to spend the day with family.

Addy on her first ride...she was only able to go on this boring boat one - even though she looks like she hates it, she screamed when I had to get her off..."more swimmin!!"

Grandma and Addy petting the goats

They have a tractor display where they let the kids get on..made for some cute pictures

Mason even wanted a turn:)

no question where he gets his bright blue eyes from:)

The petting zoo was the best

Silly Girl

Saturday night, Addy was just cracking me up during dinner. Now that we got her high chair out for Mason to use, she loves to use it to eat in as well. She's been doing that a lot lately, having to use everything Mason uses. Anyway, she kept making these funny faces that would make me laugh, which would make her laugh so hard afterward. Here's a few that I caught on camera. She's such a goofball.

August

Random Addison pictures:

Drinking so good out of her little cup!

mmm...corn on the cob! my favorite!

We can't get enough of this adorable boy! I can't believe he's 4 1/2 months old! He went through a cranky stage between 2-3 months when he wasn't digesting his food very well, but he's over that and is such a happy and chill boy! He loves to talk and roll and giggle...and is trying so hard to sit up. I'm guessing he'll be sitting pretty soon with some padding around him to fall on... but his all time favorite activity is eating. He's in the 90th percentile for weight and length..growing out of all his clothes. He's got Chris's long torso, so he wears 9 month onesies to fit his length. He looks hilarious in pants because all his weight is in his thighs. We love this boy so much - he is so much fun and just makes your whole day everytime you walk in the room and see his face light up with those adorable dimples in his cheeks and hear him squeal with delight.

He sees the toy....

latches on
