Feeding the ducks

Yesterday, we thought it would be fun to take Addy to the greenbelt and see if there were any ducks sticking around for the winter that we could feed. Little did we know, we would be chased down by close to a hundred of them that were hungry!! They were all around us, sitting on our feet...trying to grab the bread out of our hands...they weren't scared at all! I was sad that I couldn't put Addy down to let her try feeding them, because they for sure would have gone after her. But as we were leaving, Chris still had the majority of them, so I let her down as we walked back to the car. They seriously followed us to the car and as we opened the car doors we were hitting them..it was crazy!

This is a picture of Addy talking to the ducks...she kept saying, "Hi duckie!"

Chris turned 28!!!

On December 27th, Chris turned the big 28!! The night before his b-day we went out to Red Robin with Shawn/Tosha, Zach/Heidi and Gregg. It was a blast..especially without kids:)...and afterward, we went to Shawn's and played games and made shakes. Again, I sadly forgot to take pictures. Then on his birthday, we went to his parent's for the monthly birthdays dinner.(Since his family is getting so big we just combine all the birthdays each month) His family had all gone in on a gift that was a huge surprise for him. We'd been wanting to get an ipod for awhile and just share it, which was going to be our Christmas present for each other. But when I found out that's what they were doing, I had to convince him we couldn't afford it this year..so he was kinda bummed. But this was so much more than we could ever get... they got him the new "Zune." It's 120gb...plays movies, videos, holds pictures, and pretty much every song you could imagine. We're also building our supply of tools since we have none, so he got a sweet tool kit which we've already put to good use:) Anyway, Happy Birthday Babe!! I love you so much and am SO blessed and lucky to have you in my life. You're the best husband husband and father - and I can't wait to share a hundred more birthdays with you:)

Recent Activities

Addy LOVES to empty one room into another...her most recent cleaning for us was the fridge into the bathroom...she just kept taking one jar at a time and setting it on the bathroom floor:) She definitely keeps us entertained!

Lindy and Nicole are sisters and my 2 best friends..we've grown up together and done everything together! Nikki's husband got a job offer in San Antonio, TX and moved just over a week ago. This was our final goodbye.

The week after Christmas, Chris, his brothers and friends played in a city alumni tournament. They did really well and Addy had a blast being Daddy's cheerleader and tried every chance she could get to go play:)

Boy Names

It's weird...but for some reason we are having the hardest time picking a boy name! It's not that we don't have our lists of names we've always liked and still like - but for some reason when we try to call the baby that..none of them fit. It's driving me crazy, because I'm one that has to have everything ready to go when the baby comes...it freaks me out to think of delivering the baby and not having a name ready. I love all these cute boy names, but I feel like none of them are what this little guy is supposed to be named. With Addy, it was Addison from the start...there was never any doubt with hers. But right now, it's like a there's a name out there somewhere that he's supposed to be named and I haven't found it yet! I've searched through websites and books and none of the names are sticking yet. So feel free to send us some names..maybe I haven't heard of one of them yet:)

Christmas!

Christmas Eve we stayed the night at the Rose's, since Chris wasn't able to make it to the Christmas Eve dinner. We wanted him to have what time he could with family. It was nice and quiet and Addy actually slept really good there! She was so cute opening her presents and Chris and I were really blessed this year. Thank You everyone!!! After most of his siblings came over and we had a yummy brunch, we headed out to my parent's to open gifts, have a Christmas lunch/dinner out there and say goodbye to Travis/Carrie before they left. I'm sad that I didn't get any pictures out there except for this first one.

Carrie, my sister-in-law, made these gorgeous blankets for all us girls.

She's going to be the best big sister!!

Her new "blanky" from Grandma Rose!

She carries this boom box around and every once in awhile you'll catch her dancing to it:)

I've been trying to teach her how to color so that she'll have a quiet activity to do at church.

Christmas Week!

Christmas this year was so chaotic, that it made the Holidays more of a bittersweet experience for Chris, Addy and I. Chris worked almost every night, including Christmas Eve. It was our year to be with the Roses..but I had all of my siblings home for Christmas for the first time in.... I can't remember how many years. So I tried really hard to be out there as much as I could. I actually envy those that live far away that just alternate holidays instead of splitting up all the time for each holiday. My family had family pictures taken, a trip to the museum, made sugar cookies, played games, took a drive to look at Christmas lights, Chris and I made a gingerbread house, movies etc. We had Christmas Eve dinner at Chris's parent's house. It was a fun filled, stressful week!! I felt so bad for Addy..since we only have one car there was lots of dropping Chris off at work and running out to my parent's..or my mom picking me up after she got off work...and it always was in the middle of her naps. She couldn't take naps out at my mom's because of the noise and then her bedtime was always hours later..making her a fussy and clingy girl!! (understandably!) We tried to make the best of it -and I'm really grateful for my brother's sacrifice in getting their families here. It was so nice to see them! But I think everyone is looking forward to a quiet Christmas next year! One of the sweet things this year, was that my parent's did 12 days of Christmas for all their kids. My mom worked so hard to get all the packages done and sent off to everyone and I know that was very stressful for her. But it was fun for us to open those each morning. They each had a letter explaining and either a gift, or act of service for us to do. They each reminded us of what we should be thinking about this time of year and what really matters...which we really needed since we were stressing out about shopping right up till Christmas Eve.

Here's a few pictures I was able to catch...we didn't do very good taking pics this year:(

There's nothing sweeter than kid's faces looking at the lights!

Sugar cookies!

My sweet mom...trying to keep everyone happy that week!!

Baby #2 is a ....

My ultrasound was supposed to be on Friday, but due to some complications I've been having they moved it up to today, just to make sure they could see everything and make sure it's not serious. Which the results turned out good, thank goodness! It took an hour, but we finally got our little baby to move a little bit to see that Addy will be having a little
baby BROTHER!!
It's a BOY!
I've kinda been guessing it might be, but I was still a little shocked. I love having a girl and to be honest, I've been a little nervous to have a boy. We are SOOOO EXCITED! Especially Chris;) Only 20 more weeks to go! We feel so blessed!

Cheese!

Addy always plays with one of my old cameras and when I try to take a picture of her, she'll hold hers up and say "Cheese!" Here's a few cute shots of her giving a HUGE cheesy smile for me.
