The past couple months

Last week, Addy and I decided to make some Easter cookies. She's been sick for a couple weeks, so it was fun to finally do something other than lay around, and it was so good to see her smiling again.

She put all the cookies on the sheet.....

then when I wasn't looking she took bites out of a couple of them.

Poor girl...when she was sick, she'd go get a blanket and wherever I was she'd lay down on the floor by my feet.

She had a cold for about a week when she also got her first ear infection. So for 2 weeks she was miserable with getting her canines in, ear infection and a head cold.

I had to take a picture of her, because to me she looks so old in this picture. Instead of 2, she looks 5!!!

She's still not liking feeding herself very well, but when it's something yummy like pudding she'll do it!!

Back in February while we were packing up getting ready to move, we took some breaks and took Addy to the mall to play on the toys.

I hate when I haven't posted for so long because I forget what we've been up to. The first of March we moved to our new apt. It's a 3 bed 2 bath with a nice patio and the complex has an awesome playground to play on. It's been heaven for us with all the extra space compared to our last apartments. We'll be here for a couple years while Chris finishes school..so it actually feels like home. We've moved every 6 months since we've been married because of doing security systems in the summer- and it's SOOO nice to know we won't be packing for awhile.
I've definitely been going crazy nesting trying to have everything ready. We pretty much are ready to go except for a couple big things. I want a nice double stroller since I'll pretty much be alone with the 2 kids with no car when Chris starts school in August. And the other big item is that we still have no name picked out. Only a few more weeks to go..hopefully we'll settle on one before he comes. I hate imagining feeling this stress of what to name him after he's here.
Addy is growing and learning so much everyday. She learns new things to say each day, usually copying everything I say:) Her sentences are so cute and I can't believe how big she's getting. I love that she still loves to cuddle and runs up to me with kisses out of nowhere. I still can't believe she'll turn 2 in June..CRAZY!

April please come soon!!!

I cannot begin to explain how done I am being pregnant. We are so blessed and excited to have this baby..but I'm done throwing up every day, done with the restless legs at night and peeing every few hours, leaving me with no more than a few hours of sleep, done with my bladder being a kicking bag for this active little guy, done with the backaches, headaches, and the list goes on. Pregnancies are just hell for me. I hate it. BUT, there's a couple pro's to this one. I've only gained 10 pounds with 9 weeks to go. I won't even say what I had gained with Addy by this point. But I am SOOOOO excited to be done and get my new running shoes on, listen to my new ipod shuffle and hit the road running. I miss the feeling of exercising hard and being sore. I know exactly what I need to do this time around to lose the weight fast and I can't wait to do it. I have so much less to lose this time that I feel like I can actually go pass the point of losing baby weight and get in great shape this summer. I can't wait to see this sweet little boy and decide on his name. It's stressing us both out not knowing what we'll name him. We move this weekend and that is getting me excited knowing that moving in and decorating will help make March fly by. I'm loving the sunshine and the hope it brings of warmer spring weather. Spring is my favorite season!! I can't wait to take the kids outside for walks everyday and get out of the apartment!! I've rambled on enough....

Celiac's Disease

Celiac's runs in Chris's family. His mom, and 2 brother's have been diagnosed..so naturally we wanted to find out if Chris has it. The testing is very expensive and not always accurate..so the best way to find out is to try the diet. We had him do the diet for the month of January and then stop the diet for a week and eat normal..and after 2 days he felt a huge difference. Great..hello to a new life of cooking gluten free. Let me explain why I'm not excited:)

"Celiac disease is a digestive disease that damages the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food. People who have celiac disease cannot tolerate gluten, a protein in wheat, rye, and barley. Gluten is found mainly in foods but may also be found in everyday products such as medicines, vitamins, and lip balms."

The list goes on for what we have to look for on labels. It pretty much makes us cook everything from scratch or use organic and special gluten free ingredients. The only brand of Cream of Mushroom soup that we can use is $3!! We cook with rice flour, potato flour, bean flours...we have to check labels of all sauces (ranch, ketchup etc) It's been quite the learning process..but I think I'm used to it now. It just gets annoying when I don't plan a menu for the week, because it's almost impossible to make dinner on the spur of the moment. He can't grab a burrito or make a quesadilla for snacks anymore. It does make you eat very healthy, since the only carbs can be what I make homemade with his special flours and you can't eat all the processed, ready to eat foods. For example, instead of hamburgers and sandwhiches, we eat lettuce wraps. Addy and I still eat our whole wheat bread since it is healthy for us..but we have to be careful of cross-contamination with utensils and the countertops etc. It is very annoying when we go to food functions..you pretty much have to take your own food..or try and explain to the people who make the food what he can and can't have. A lot of restaurants are starting GF menus which is nice. Anyway..I just pray it won't be passed onto our children.

Swimming with Daddy

Last Saturday, Shawn invited us to go swimming with him and his kids. Addy loved swimming over the summer, but it's been so long that she forgot she liked it. She cried at first, which I think was more because of how crowded it was.

In the video, that sound you hear is Addy. She was squealing the whole time.

Utah trip

Last weekend we made a quick trip to Utah since Chris had a couple appointments in SLC on Monday. We stayed with Brian, Ashley and Tyson..which was so long overdue. Jeff and Julie came over Sunday night which was a blast. It was so much fun to see Addy and Tyson together again. When we were leaving, we told the kids to give kisses, so Tyson pushes Addy against the door and manages to get a kiss on her binky before she yells NO and pushes him away:) We miss all our APX friends so much and wish we lived closer.

5 things for the week

5 things I'm grateful for this week:

1. Elmo - This is pathetic, I know - BUT on my really bad days when I can't make it off the couch, I'm grateful for Elmo and Addy's obsession with him. On those days we'll cuddle and watch the different movies we have with him when I don't feel well enough to run around with her.

2. Crock Pot - I can throw everything in it in the morning and have dinner or lunch (depending on Chris's schedule) ready when Chris gets home. I hate having to cook on the spur of the moment.

3. Long hot showers - I love them, they're so relaxing and I wish I could stay in there forever. They really make me miss the steam and hot rooms at Gold's Gym in Provo. I would move back there for those alone.

4. Carbonation - I never drink soda, unless I'm pregnant. Horrible right??!!I know this, but honestly you can't judge me - it is the ONLY thing that can calm my stomach in the moment. I've tried it all, and besides Zofran it's the only source of relief from my nausea. I only drink caffeine free and diet, which I know - still isn't good for you.

5. Warmer days - I hate winter..especially being pregnant with a 19 month old. We're so sick of being stuck inside. We've had a couple days where the weather teases us with spring and Addy and I run outside for some fresh air and a walk! It's like heaven and I can't wait for SPRING!

Random Pics

The other day, Chris came home from work with a red wagon that they had on clearance. We knew this family in CT that always pulled their little boy in a red wagon when they went on Sunday walks - and it was the CUTEST thing! He got right to work putting it together and Addy was right next to him the whole time. Saying she loves it is an understatement. She wants to be pulled all day everyday! When we back up, she goes.."beep beep"..and "Weeeee" when we start pulling her. Then when she was throwing a fit at bedtime, we put blankets in it and let her lay in it to watch her Elmo before bed.

Addy is also obsessed with talking on our cell phones..but ONLY when no one is on the other line trying to talk to her! She'll carry it around between her shoulder and ear, with her arm straight up in the air and will be talking non-stop..then when she's done, she goes, "okay buh-bye!" and shuts it and brings it to me. She is SO much fun!
