Cherish the moments

I was watching Oprah the other day while feeding Addy and I was so touched by this family she had on. They had a baby boy who had so many medical problems that he wasn't supposed to live more than a couple weeks. The way this couple handled it was amazing..they took thousands of photos and video of this precious little boy. They cherished each moment they had with him. He ended up living 99 days and the day of the funeral they let 99 balloons loose into the air as an example of sending him back to his Father. The part that touched me the most was something the father said. They were taking video of each day and it was 11:00pm and he said, "it's now time for my favorite part of the day, I get to watch him for the next few hours and feed him"....until his wife takes over for the next shift. I loved that he viewed it as his favorite part of the day. I think so many of us complain about waking up at those crazy hours..and dread changing diapers...not having any "me" time etc...but to me these are blessings that so many couples don't get to have, and I am so blessed to have been able to get pregnant so easy. You never know if you'll be able to have another child so easy..or when you might lose your child...so remember to soak in every second. These are moments that make me love being a mother, because they are bonding times that only I get to have with Addy. I absolutely love being home with her everyday. I don't miss a thing about single life or the months when I was working 40+ hours a week. Motherhood is the best..I love every second of it. Addy is everything to me, and I miss her like crazy when I'm away from her. This is what we're here for..this is what life is all about.. Family. I can't wait to have more children...I just pray that Chris and I are lucky enough to have a large family.

WOW! Mindy - you sound so much like my wife Jenny. We have never met but I like you already. I am friends with Chris and missed your wedding cause we live in OHIO for dental school. I think Dental Assistants are the best too!

I watched that same show. It reminded me to never take the small things for granted. I love being a mother and wouldn't trade it for the world.

I know what you mean and I don't even have little girls to put them one. We should get to together and Make some bows together.
