Christmas Week!

Christmas this year was so chaotic, that it made the Holidays more of a bittersweet experience for Chris, Addy and I. Chris worked almost every night, including Christmas Eve. It was our year to be with the Roses..but I had all of my siblings home for Christmas for the first time in.... I can't remember how many years. So I tried really hard to be out there as much as I could. I actually envy those that live far away that just alternate holidays instead of splitting up all the time for each holiday. My family had family pictures taken, a trip to the museum, made sugar cookies, played games, took a drive to look at Christmas lights, Chris and I made a gingerbread house, movies etc. We had Christmas Eve dinner at Chris's parent's house. It was a fun filled, stressful week!! I felt so bad for Addy..since we only have one car there was lots of dropping Chris off at work and running out to my parent's..or my mom picking me up after she got off work...and it always was in the middle of her naps. She couldn't take naps out at my mom's because of the noise and then her bedtime was always hours later..making her a fussy and clingy girl!! (understandably!) We tried to make the best of it -and I'm really grateful for my brother's sacrifice in getting their families here. It was so nice to see them! But I think everyone is looking forward to a quiet Christmas next year! One of the sweet things this year, was that my parent's did 12 days of Christmas for all their kids. My mom worked so hard to get all the packages done and sent off to everyone and I know that was very stressful for her. But it was fun for us to open those each morning. They each had a letter explaining and either a gift, or act of service for us to do. They each reminded us of what we should be thinking about this time of year and what really matters...which we really needed since we were stressing out about shopping right up till Christmas Eve.

Here's a few pictures I was able to catch...we didn't do very good taking pics this year:(

There's nothing sweeter than kid's faces looking at the lights!

Baby #2 is a ....

My ultrasound was supposed to be on Friday, but due to some complications I've been having they moved it up to today, just to make sure they could see everything and make sure it's not serious. Which the results turned out good, thank goodness! It took an hour, but we finally got our little baby to move a little bit to see that Addy will be having a little
baby BROTHER!!
It's a BOY!
I've kinda been guessing it might be, but I was still a little shocked. I love having a girl and to be honest, I've been a little nervous to have a boy. We are SOOOO EXCITED! Especially Chris;) Only 20 more weeks to go! We feel so blessed!

Cheese!

Addy always plays with one of my old cameras and when I try to take a picture of her, she'll hold hers up and say "Cheese!" Here's a few cute shots of her giving a HUGE cheesy smile for me.

Nursery!

Since Addy is 17 months, I thought it would be worth a shot to see if our nursery would take her early. They were so nice and said they would as long as they didn't have too many kids..which they didn't! After Sunday School, my friend said that they had been looking for me, but when they peeked in the door to Gospel Doctrine they couldn't see us. Addy apparently realized that she had been dropped off in a room full of strangers and started crying. They said once they took her in the hall to find us she calmed down, so they took her back in and she was fine the rest of church. It's been driving me crazy taking her in the hall all during church...it's not that she's bad - she just has so much energy and loves to talk, that she walks around to everyone and laughs and talks really loud to them. So - I'm really grateful that they're taking her early. I didn't know what to do sitting in Sunday School without her, it was really weird being able to sit still and listen to the lesson. I all of a sudden felt really old having a kid in nursery :) I loved going to get her after church, seeing her walking around with her paper that she was supposed to color, but didn't:) She saw me and goes, "Mommy!!" then handed me her crumpled up paper with a proud look on her face. I wanted to cry! I love her so much!

Quick Update

As for Chris and I...I'm still sick all day - 17 1/2 weeks and no relief. I've tried it all, nothing works except I get the B6 shots and they help for 2 days which is a nice break..but they raised the price on them so I won't be able to get them as often. Oh well, almost half way through! We're excited to find out in a few weeks what the gender is! That will make it seem a little more real. I've been losing weight so far in this pregnancy so I'm not showing too much yet, which makes it hard for this to seem real right now. Except... the past couple days I've finally started feeling some movement!!
We found out last month that Chris was accepted into the Radiation Control program that the INL does through EITC. We were so EXCITED because they have a waiting list for it, but he scored high enough on the tests that they put him through! YAY! He'll start that in August and it's an 18 month program and then we'll be done! There's finally a light at the end of the tunnel! The INL hires on the top out of each class.. but even if we don't make it there, there's a high demand all over the country so we're excited to be so close to being settled with a great job. But we'll be praying to be able to stay here and work at the site:) I'm so proud of Chris and how hard he has worked since we got married. The summer work isn't easy..but he pushes on through so we can have the money to pay for school. Then when we get back, he works full time and goes to school and I know it's so exhausting for him. I get cranky sometimes with how little I see him, but I know this is phase we have to go through to get to the next stage in our lives which will make this all worth it. I love him so much and am so grateful for all he does for our little family.

All about Addison

Addison will be 17 months on Saturday! I can't believe it! She is so much fun, but is getting quite the attitude! It seems like once she turned 15 months, she knows what she wants and won't take no for an answer..but that WILL be her answer for everything! She is such a talker and jabbers all day. She talks in sentences all day long, even if I can't understand a word of it. Her newest words are Biaper (diaper)..and she'll come up to me and say it while patting her diaper when she's poopy. She says "Dank-oo" (thank-you), "bess-oo" (bless you) after you sneeze, "here go" ("here you go", while handing you something) "der go"("there you go" while handing you something). That's all I can think of right now:)..but she has her own full vocabulary that I love hearing each day. She runs all over the place and still takes 2 naps. She has almost all her teeth finally, getting her molars and canines in the past couple months. We gave her her first haircut..which was just giving her some bangs because she refuses to keep any ponytails in, so her hair just falls in her face. I love this girl to pieces and love waking up to her big smile and "Mommy!" each morning.

Parks are so much more fun when you can run and walk!

Tautphaus Park

While everyone was here, we took advantage of the nice weather and went to Tautphaus Park. The kids has SOOO much fun! Of course, the piles of leaves were their favorite and we ended up having leaf fights all afternoon till it got too cold. It was a blast having everyone here...can't wait till Christmas when we get everyone together again! It usually happens only once a year, if that.

Carrie and Hallee...this little girl is SO cute..I love her big blue eyes.

Halloween 09

Halloween was crazy this year! My brother's family was in town from Oregon, so we had ALL the grandkids together for once! My nephew was blessed that weekend, so we tried to come out to my mom's as much as we could to see everyone. Which means Addy's sleep schedule was off and wasn't too happy most evenings...like Halloween! Chris and I took took her to Snake River Landing for trick-or-treat street on Friday night. That was the most fun, because she caught on real quick what they were putting in her bucket. She'd say "nummy nummy", then run off and try to cut people off for the next stop. The next night we loaded up all the grandkids and took them to some neighborhoods...she was so tired that she could care less what we were doing. I LOVED her in her monkey costume..she'd waddle around and it was just priceless!

At each trailor she'd try to take out the candy and eat it.

I've tried uploading a walking video of Addy several times, but it hasn't been working. So finally a month later, I got one to work.

Pumpkin Patch

We had our annual Rose grandkids trip to the pumpkin patch on Saturday. It was FREEZING..but of course a blast.

They had a little chicken pen that of course Addy loved. She kept growling at them like a bear.

Enjoying her freedom of running away!

She found her pumpkin that's just her size!

They had a train ride this year which I thought she'd love..but she cried the whole time. Probably because all the grandkids were squeezed in the yellow caboose at the end, and I just stuck her through a window for Ashlyn to hold, and then the train took off.
