Update

For about a year, our plan has been for Chris to get hired on with Costco and move up into management there. He has great experience in Retail Management..and Costco is a great company to work for. We really wanted to get on with the Costco opening up in Pocatello this month since it's close to home, but not in the same town with all our family. Well, we never heard anything and we applied at several other locations..and finally we had to make a choice. We realized that maybe this Costco thing was so much what we wanted, but maybe not what the Lord has in store for us at this time. The new plans are for Chris to go back to school..get a degree in Business Management, and we'll go from there. Having that degree will put him at the top of the lists when he starts sending resumes out again. He'll start part-time with BYU-Idaho this January..and work full time while doing that. This decision also has us doing security systems again this summer. The money is so good, and will allow us to not work as much during the school year. We have felt so good about these decisions since making them.
Pres. Hinckley said this about education:
You are moving into the most competitive age the world has ever known. All around you is competition. You need all the education you can get. Sacrifice a car; sacrifice anything that is needed to be sacrificed to qualify yourselves to do the work of the world. That world will in large measure pay you what it thinks you are worth, and your worth will increase as you gain education and proficiency in your chosen field.

You belong to a church that teaches the importance of education. You have a mandate from the Lord to educate your minds and your hearts and your hands. The Lord has said, “Teach ye diligently … of things both in heaven and in the earth, and under the earth; things which have been, things which are, things which must shortly come to pass; things which are at home, things which are abroad; the wars and the perplexities of the nations, and the judgments which are on the land; and a knowledge also of countries and of kingdoms—that ye may be prepared in all things” (D&C 88:78–80).

congrats you guys - it's crazy when plans don't work out it always leaves you scrambling a bit . . . but usually something better always comes along. you'll do great. darik and I both did better at school AFTER we were married. I think that trend holds true for most couples . . .

Yeah, I think that will definitely be true for Chris, if he can come home and have me help him study..and especially with the money from the summer to take that load off of him during the school year.
