The beach at Michigan Lake

A couple weeks ago Ashley and I FINALLY headed down to the beach on the perfect weather day. It wasn't too hot and humid and wasn't too cold. Addy absolutely loved it! She wasn't too sure what to do with the sand, but she LOVED being in the water. I sat her on the edge where the waves would come up on her legs and she would crack up everytime. I took her out with me a little deeper and would dip her in each time a wave would come up and she thought that was the funnest thing in the world! We haven't made it back yet, but I can't wait to get back down there. It's not quite the same as the beaches in California, but it's surprisingly close:)

Birthday Girl!

Addison is 1!! I can't believe it! Yesterday was her birthday, and I was SO happy that it fell on a Sunday, since that is Chris's only day off. The day started off rough with Addy waking up at 6:30am ( usually she wakes up at 8)..so that made for a very long day at church. We ended up leaving an hour early since I wasn't feeling good at all. Addy usually takes a 2 hour nap after church..but even with her early morning she only took an hour nap. I was getting very nervous for how she would handle her party at this point. But she took a half hour nap before everyone came over and ended up being such a happy girl! She loved her cake and pretty much just ate all the frosting and then stopped and watched all the kids play. Words can't express how much I love my little girl. We're together all day, everyday while Chris is out working hard...and I never get sick of it. She's my best friend for life! I love seeing her get all excited when I walk into her room in the morning and I love her cuddles before bed at night. Her laugh is the best sound in the world and her smile can make anything that is wrong be okay. There is NOTHING more gratifying than being a mother. Thanks to all our friends for coming and celebrating with us!! And thanks Ash and Alyssa for taking pictures for us!

My friend Ashely and I decided to do a trial run of Addy's 1 yr pictures outside before her birthday next Sunday. We learned a lot of things:) We need to bring more things to keep her entertained and to smile..and the other, do it on a day that's not 90 degrees outside and humid. Newest project

Hooded Towels!! This was so much easier than I thought it would be, and I was so excited how they turned out! And to top it off, Addy loved it! Thanks Melanie for the idea and help!!

it got really quiet the other day when I was showering and when I opened the curtain, this is what I found.

Kesling Park

On Friday we went to this awesome Discovery Park in LaPorte..it was by far the coolest park I've ever been to! Once again, Addy's favorite part was the swings. This was her second time being on them and kept getting the giggles and loved getting pushed higher and higher! I'd stand her up against the other toys and she'd cruise along and make her way around to the other side. She looks like her cheeks are sunburned..but they just get very rosey when she's warm:)

She would hold onto everything and cruise her way around the playground.
