We hosted Thanksgiving this year for the first time. Chris's parents, and Shawn and Tosha's family came down on Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving. His parents left on Saturday, and Shawn and Tosha left on Sunday. It was a full house, with lots of food, games, singing, movies, the flu and 2 trips to the strip. I was definitely stressed about Thanksgiving day, but it turned out just fine, and I learned a lot about what not to do/and what to have ready for next time we host. After that was over, I relaxed and we had a blast the rest of the weekend. Sadly, 6 people got the 24 hr flu while here, but it didn't stop us from having fun. While the women cooked Thanksgiving dinner, Chris and Shawn took the kids to the park to play. After dinner, we went to a Chocolate Factory in Henderson that has botanical gardens decked out in Christmas lights. It was really awesome, and the kids loved it. After that we headed down to the strip to see the Bellagio fountains, but traffic was crazy and we didn't know where to park..but we were able to see them while sitting in traffic:) Friday we ran some errands and that night we sang songs around the piano and Chris got out his guitar...and then we played some games. Saturday night we ate at Carrabba's, and then went down to the strip knowing where to park:) The Fountains are incredible, and then we went to Casear's Palace where we got lost trying to find the fire shows and aquarium. We ended up finding the aquarium, but not the fire show. But it was cool to see everything along the way:) I now know where all the shopping is! It's a maze down there and we definitely have a lot to learn about where to go. Sunday, we said our goodbyes and that's always hard to do. It was a fun week and here's the picture overload in backwards order:
saying goodbye
aquarium
Casear's Palace pool
fountains
talking tree in the botanical gardens in the Bellagio
waiting at Carrabba's
playing at the park
Thanks for an awesome week!

I lived in Henderson when I was little and know just what chocolate factory you are talking about! Ethel M chocolates are the best! Have you discovered that during the tour during the day you get free chocolate at the end? Also a pointer we've discovered in our years of trips down there, if you don't mind walking down at the strip, you can park in some of the older casino's parking lots for free like the luxor and excalibur. Pretty much the farther away you get from the middle of the strip the easier it is to find parking.
That's fun you had so many people for thanksgiving!
Geez, look at all the fun you have been having. Your kids look so big to me. Glad Thanksgiving was a success!!
